Rajgira or Amaranth directly translates to ‘immortal’ or ‘everlasting’ in Greek. Rajgira seeds have been very common in Indian diets especially during Upvas or Vrat. Consumed with jaggery, again, as snack bars or as khichadi, rajgira is one of the superfoods. Known for the protein content, it also has manganese, potassium, antioxidants, and iron. Fulfilling the requirement of micronutrients, amaranth as the name suggests, would lengthen your life.
Here's one more magic seed to add to the list- Flax seed. Popularly served as a chutney in Maharashtra , flax seeds contain Omega-3 and fiber. These are heart-healthy oil seeds which also help in improving digestion.
